Even though Pierre, Amanda, and I are all Dickinson College alumni, I didn’t get to know them as well until recently. I spent quite a bit of time getting to know Amanda earlier this year for all of the wedding related events of her soon to be sister-in-law, Julia. We had such a fun time and I was so happy to hear that she was very interested in booking an engagement session.
Pierre and Amanda are such an amazing couple and a pure joy to be around. I guess the ease and comfort comes with the territory of being together for six years. We started off the session at Meridian Hill Park just before sunrise in order to beat the crowds and the heat. One of my favorite parts of our time together was when I had them hold hands, face each other, and talk about when they first met, when they first knew they were in love, and favorite memories. It was a great way to help them get in the groove of the shoot and for me to see how madly in love they are. From now on that is going to be my official warm up when shooting couples to put them in the moment.
