  • About me

I am Monique Dolbin and I have a passion for capturing beautiful, natural images for my clients. I enjoy working with everyone from young professionals, couples, families, to children. I am located in the DC area (Arlington VA to be exact), but I also spend a great deal of time in Central Pennsylvania (Harrisburg, York, and New Cumberland). If the images in my blog and my shooting style resonate with you, I hope that we'll be able to work together soon!

Yoni and Julie’s Wedding at the Carlyle Club in Alexandria, VA

Photographing a wedding is always an honor but it’s so much sweeter when it’s two dear friends. I’ve known Julie and Yoni for a couple years now and I was through the roof excited when they asked me to be their wedding photographer.

On a very warm and sunny day, Julie and Yoni said their I do’s at the Carlyle Club in Alexandria, VA. They had their ceremony and reception at the same venue, which always helps the day run smoothly. One of my favorite parts of the day was the first look where Yoni had the best reaction when he saw his beautiful bride for the first time. It was honestly the best out of all of the weddings I’ve had the privilege to photograph.

I’ll let the photos to the talking about the rest of the day. A special thank you to my second shooter, Becca, and to Austin as well for his help assisting.

I hope you enjoy all of the photos! If so, please like or leave a comment below!

Meet Harper – In-Home Newborn Photography in DC

Nothing is more exciting than to hear the fantastic news that my former couples are expecting! I was so very excited and honored when Carrie and Tanner reached out and asked me to photograph their beautiful baby girl, Harper. If you’d like to walk down memory lane, feel free to check out their wedding blog post here.

We did the session in their home in DC to make it as natural and easy as possible. All of the blankets, outfits, and stuffed animals all had special meaning to the family from being passed down or received as gifts from family and friends.

Photographing babies can be tricky as it’s hard to predict their moods and needs but Harper was an absolute dream to photograph and she was a good sport and slept through most of the session. She is certainly one beautiful and very loved little girl. I can’t wait to watch her grow up! Hopefully she’ll make another appearance on the blog in the future!

If you love the photos, be sure to share or comment below!

Marilee Smith - You have beautifully captured our precious granddaughter and her proud parents. Just as beautifully as you captured her mommy and daddy’s wedding day. Thank you.

Kara and Jesse’s Fall Wedding at Roundtop Mountain Resort

Many of you will likely remember Kara and Jesse’s fall engagement shoot from the very same venue where they decided to begin the next chapter of their lives together.

Their special day was rather beautiful and was filled with a lot of laughter, smiles, and love! The fall weather could not have been better (well perhaps a tad bit warmer) for the outdoor ceremony followed by the indoor reception at Roundtop Mountain Resort. The location is also where Kara and Jessie met, so it held a very special place in their hearts as well as for many of their friends that enjoy hitting the slopes with them each season. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves as to how beautiful the day was and how adorable their little boy, Phoenix, is.

A special thank you goes out to my second shooter in PA, Marcy! She’s always great to work with.

I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I had fun taking them!

Colin and Katy’s Bayside Wedding in Maryland

Katy and Colin are a very special couple to me. Not only because I was honored with taking their very first photos as a married couple, but I actually captured the first image of them together as a couple! Anyone who spends any time around them together can see how madly in love they are and their happiness is infectious. I adore spending time with them as we spend at least half of the time laughing and we really understand each other’s sense of humor.

Their wedding took place along the Chesapeake Bay at a private yacht club on an overcast day. The damp weather did not put a damper on the festivities as there was a lot laughter and smiling at their intimate ceremony and reception. The entire event came together rather well with the help of their families from leading the wedding ceremony to building the altar and centerpieces.

Special thanks to my second shooter, Cliff Davis, for his help in covering their wedding and reception. I’ll let the images do the rest of the storytelling about their special day. However, I will close with the warmest wishes of a lifetime of happiness for this lovely couple. Enjoy!

Soccorso’s One Year Photos – Litiz Springs Park Family Photographer

This blog post has been more than a year in the making. Literally.

With my camera I had the honor of capturing all of the exciting moments from their maternity shoot, to Soccorso’s newborn photos, then six months, and now I couldn’t be more excited to share his one year photo shoot.

Soccorso’s piercing blue eyes are to die for and he just has so much personality that I can only imagine how fun he’s going to be to photograph when he’s talking up a storm.

I hope you enjoy these photos as much as we had fun taking them!
