I am Monique Dolbin and I have a passion for capturing beautiful, natural images for my clients. I enjoy working with everyone from young professionals, couples, families, to children. I am located in the DC area (Arlington VA to be exact), but I also spend a great deal of time in Central Pennsylvania (Harrisburg, York, and New Cumberland). If the images in my blog and my shooting style resonate with you, I hope that we'll be able to work together soon!

Melissa and Jason’s Milestone on the River Wedding – Harrisburg Wedding Photographer

It seems like just yesterday that I met up with Melissa and Jason for their engagement photos. However, their fall wedding was here before we knew it! Luckily, the weather cooperated for their outdoor wedding which was enjoyed by all.

Melissa was a beautiful bride who was beaming with excitement to marry her best friend, Jason. The ceremony and reception took place at the beautiful Milestone on the River in Harrisburg, PA.  Having the ceremony and the reception in the same location is a dream come true for a photographer! On top of the venue itself being ideal, the JDK group did a fantastic job catering and turning their reception into nothing short of breathtaking. I’d also have to say it was one the best meals I’ve had at all of my weddings (the secret way to my heart is crab cakes).

Melissa and Jason’s wedding was so very special for all who were there and you could just feel the love and happiness in the room. It was truly an honor to photograph their big day and I hope you enjoy the photos below!

Haley and Brad – DC Engagement Photography

Haley and Brad have such a special place in my heart. I’ve known Haley since high school which at this point is so long ago that it almost feels like forever. After college, Haley and I both ended up in the DC area and have spent countless hours catching up over drinks or carpooling to Central PA always finding something in common to chat on about effortlessly.

Of course, we would always talk about guys and I remember her telling me about Brad. In order to make things a bit easier on their relationship, Brad was then hoping to move to the DC area. As many of you know, it’s all about who you know when trying finding a job. I referred Brad to my then current company and of course they saw just how much of a catch he was! While we didn’t get to work together too long before I chose greener pastures, I have always loved hearing about and seeing photos of their adventures together as a couple.

Brad and Haley both have huge hearts and volunteer with an after school program for children in DC and have done so for years now. It’s such a big part of their lives that Brad even popped the big question there! I was beyond excited to hear about their engagement and that they wanted me to be their wedding photographer! Saying that I’m excited for their wedding in May would be an understatement!

I hope that you all enjoy these photos of these two lovebirds. If so, be sure to comment below or like my Facebook page!

We started things off at the Pour House which is quite well known as a Pittsburgh bar. The staff was amazing and so welcoming. Be sure to go there for a pint… or five.:)

We then headed over to the lawn in front of the Capitol building for some football and fun.  After an impressive outfit change (the years of ballet really paid off at that moment), Haley and Brad enjoyed a picnic on the lawn while I snapped some photos of them just being so in love.  After that we all headed over to the tidal basin to the FDR Memorial which is their favorite. The light was amazing and how beautiful is Haley?!

In keeping with our very DC feel we walked through the WW2 memorial on the way to the Lincoln Memorial just in time for sunset. The sky was just simply stunning.

Huge thanks to Brad and Haley’s friends Michael and Jennifer who volunteered to come along to help with transportation to all of the sites in our plan as well as lighting and bag guarding duty. These beautiful photos would not be possible without your help… Thank you!!

Introducing baby Soccorso

As some of you may recall, not too long ago I shared a blog post featuring Rob and Danielle’s maternity photos. Following our photo session, I anxiously awaited the good news and I’m sure many were just as happy as I was to hear about the arrival of their handsome baby boy.

Soon after his arrival, I made the trip to their beautiful home to capture some photos of their family that had more of a lifestyle feel to them rather than a studio look. We had a lot of fun incorporating elements into the shoot to really make these photos personal to the Webb family like a handmade quilt, Rob’s baby blanket, and Dickinson College gear (can’t forget the red Adirondack chair either).

Without further ado, let me introduce you to baby Soccorso… I hope you enjoy the photos! Be sure to leave comments below if you do.:)

Tanner and Carrie’s Shade Trees and Evergreens Wedding – Fredrick, MD

For those loyal followers, you’ll likely remember Tanner and Carrie from their engagement session last year.

As I’ve said before, these guys are a special couple to me and I was beyond excited for their big day. Their ceremony and reception were both located at Shade Trees and Evergreens in Fredrick, MD. It was such a smooth day because the usual stress or having to manage logistics and timing of travel just wasn’t there. Not to mention the location is just breathtaking!

We were a little concerned about the weather but luckily it turned out to be a beautiful day and the few minute rain shower didn’t put a damper on all the fun. Don’t they say a little rain on your wedding day is good luck?!

There was so much fun and laughter in the air that it was easy to photograph genuine love and happiness. Huge thanks to my second photographer, Jess Veltri, for the amazing job she did!

Without further adieu, please check out my favorite photos of the day. If you like the photos, please be sure to comment below and like my Facebook page to keep up with my latest work.

The amazingly delicious food was prepared by Backstage Bistro. My second shooter Jess said it best: “WOW… This is the best food I think I’ve ever had at a wedding!”

Melissa, Kevin, and Rylen – Family Portrait Photographer – Washington DC

I work with Melissa and we have grown close to her over the last year. I was beyond excited when Melissa asked me to take some family photos. We decided that the family portrait session would took place in two locations: around the Lincoln Memorial and in their neighborhood in Arlington, VA. It was a very warm June day but I was thankful to find out that Rylen loves having her picture taken and she was quite the trooper during our time together.

While I spend nearly every weekday bonding with Melissa at work, it was really heartwarming to see how great Kevin is with Rylen. I had a blast spending time with all of them and I think their love for each other shines through in these photos!

In less than a month, Melissa and Kevin will be tying the knot. Therefore, I made sure to snap a few photos of the two of them together and Rylen was excited to help me pose them for a few shots… She’s a natural! I can’t wait to be a second photographer and a guest at their wedding in Sonoma, CA.
